This creates a visual cue of words and ideas that can garner more points from the panel. Divide an 8 ½ by 11 page into four quadrants and use an easy to read font. What to include?

1. Project specific words and phrases that resonate with your panel. On a recent airport pursuit, the 12 item list included: passenger experience, staff engagement, parking protection and zero impacts.

2. Benefits list that includes something for every panel member. Go beyond “on time” and “on budget” to “make you a hero to the regulators.”

3. List the stakeholders who have an interest in the project. Though they are not all in the room, reference them in the presentation and Q & A.

4. Why us! List your themes, your differentiators and your value proposition. State them early and often and always deliver with passion.
