What I know for sure…about presentations

I start this month’s news with a nod to Oprah, who coined the phrase above…minus the presentation part. Here’s what I know for sure!

1. If you don’t rehearse your presentation, your audience gets to see your first dry run. Not pretty.

2. If you summarize slides and cherry pick your points, you are a hero. If you read the slide to me, you are a zero.

3. End on time or better yet, end early.

4. Start rehearsing Q & A early and often. Practicing in the car as you drive to the interview doesn’t count.

5. I know the panel can tell if a team does or does not play well together. The panel’s invisible sign will flash “game over.”

6. I know that great presenters practice…early and often.

7. Talk about ME and I will like YOU better.
