Think fast on your feet!

Q & A is a critical part of any presentation and should be part of each rehearsal. Be prepared to think fast on your feet when you get hit with a question you didn’t expect.
1. Pause before you answer. Make sure you’ve heard the entire question.
2. Listen for intent. Clients who ask about challenges are looking for solutions.
3. Clarify broad questions to make it easier to answer. When asked, “How do you control costs?”, ask them, “Shall I focus on pre-construction strategies or construction strategies?”
4. Be concise. Respond with one strong point and add supporting data.
5. Focus on a response…not a perfect response.
6. Keep the rate steady, the volume high and maintain strong eye contact.
