Make the most of your 10 minute presentation

Remember the good old days when our clients asked us to present for 45 minutes? I do too! These days there is a high likelihood that your clients will ask for a shorter presentation and a longer Q & A. Here are some ideas if you have only 10 minutes.
1. Let the PM run the show. Start with a short punchy story about your project understanding and the importance of their project.
2. Let team members introduce themselves. Thirty seconds with an emphasis on what you’ll do for “me” and your added value.
3. Talk about key issues. Have your PM raise the issue and then pass it to a team member to add the solution and proof.
4. Instead of #3 above, present opportunities to save time, save money, improve quality, get faster approval.
No power point. Embellish the placemat with a team photo, agenda and “wow” pieces from the proposal.
Create boards that can be used in Q & A.
5. End with a quick review of your “why us” list and then tell them you’re ready to answer their questions!
