Seal the deal in the Q & A

This critical part of a shortlist interview is often left for the bitter end of the team’s rehearsal…not good. When you practice Q & A early and often, you strengthen each response, create team interaction and might even learn more about the project details.

1. Be prepared for a variety of Q’s. Individual Q’s, team Q’s, what if scenarios, deal breakers and follow-up on items in the proposal.

2. Share the stage. Panels watch for interaction between team members. Remember: they are picking people.

3. Repeat themes, benefits, differentiators and key points that you used in the presentation…without adding, “as I said before…”

4. Reassure the panel. As they raise issues that keep them up at night, offer solutions, examples and maintain your energetic delivery. Show them you’ve got it covered!
