What it's Like to Sit on the Other Side of the Table

My recent presentation to CMAA Southern California, included an amazing owner’s panel. They gave us their view of shortlist presentations from “the other side” of the table. Here’s what they like and what they don’t!

1. Bottom line = we are picking people. Bring the people that I’ll be working with on a daily basis.

2. Feel free to leave your PIC at home…really!

3. Be a good partner. Tell us what we don’t know, fill in gaps and give us a heads up on issues.

4. I want to hear from everyone and see if there is/isn’t good team interaction.

5. Sometimes we interrupt on purpose. Show us that you can think fast and stay calm.

6. How you come across matters more than fancy visuals.

7. Listen to the coach!!
