There are a variety of ways to let your audience know that you care about them or that you’re excited about their project or that you’re invested in their success. When you add a personal or passion piece, you are more memorable. Consider these options for your next shortlist presentation.

  1. It’s okay to say you’re excited but tell me why. It’s best if your “why” is a benefit to them.

  2. Tag a critical statement so that it stands out. “This is how we’ll ensure your success.” Or “this is what makes us the industry leader.”Or, “this method allows the team to make good decisions faster.”

  3. Ask for the project as “I”. At the end of your section, you can say, “I’m ready to get started.” Or “I’m anxious to be part of this landmark project.”

  4. Give kudos to your team leader and say why they’re an asset to the project.
